What We Believe
Here at St. Joe we stand on the firm foundation of truth, God’s word. If scripture says it, we believe it and we do our very best to live a life based on this truth. Are we perfect? Absolutely not! But we do know the One who is and we want you to invite you on this journey of faith, as we follow Him.

The Fundamentals of Faith at St. Joe
Whether you’re new to faith or have been on this journey for years, we invite you to explore with us. Ask questions, share your thoughts, and discover what it means to follow Christ in today’s world.
We stand firm on the belief that if Scripture says it, we believe it. Our faith is built on the timeless truths found in the Bible, providing us with direction and purpose.
1- The Authority of Scripture- We recognize the Bible as God’s inspired and authoritative word, as affirmed in 2 Timothy 3:16. It serves as our guide in all matters of faith and practice.
2- The Divinity of Jesus Christ- We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, fully God and fully man. He became flesh while already existing as God in Heaven (John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:6-11; Colossians 1:17).
3- The Sacrifice of Jesus- We believe that Jesus died on the cross intentionally, serving as the perfect sacrifice for our sins (Romans 5:1-8). His death offers us redemption and hope.
4- The Resurrection- We believe that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after His crucifixion. His resurrection demonstrates His power over death and validates His ministry (1 Corinthians 15:3-7).
5- The Promise of His Return- We believe that Jesus will return one day to take us to be with Him in Heaven, reigning with absolute power and authority (Matthew 24:36-44; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
6- The Need for Salvation- We believe that accepting Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation from sin and for eternal life in Heaven (John 3:16; 14:6).
7- The Path to Salvation- The Bible outlines the way to be saved:
-Hear and Believe: Recognize that Jesus is God’s Son (Romans 10:14).
-Acknowledge Our Sin: That all have fallen short of God’s Glory by sinning against God (Romans 3:23).
-The Gift of Grace: No one make it to heaven on their own merits: it is by God’s grace that we are given the opportunity to be saved (Ephesians 2:8,9; Romans 6:23)
-Confess and Trust: Confess belief in Christ and place our trust in Him (Romans 10:11)
-Baptism: Be immersed into Christ for forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-7).
8- The Role of the Holy Spirit- We believe the Holy Spirit indwells true believers, acting as Counselor, Comforter, Teacher, and Developer of spiritual fruits and gifts (John 14:25-26; Galatians 5:22-23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; Ephesians 4:11-13).
9- The Church as God’s People- We believe the church is made up of those saved in Christ (Matthew 16:18). As God’s people, we are called to worship Him (Ephesians 5:19-20), evangelize (Matthew 28:19), and teach others to honor Jesus in their lives, recognizing Him as the Head of the church (Ephesians 4:5; 5:23).
We know that faith is not meant to be walked alone. At St. Joe, we cherish the relationships we build with one another. We invite you to connect with us—whether through small groups, gatherings, or simply sharing a cup of coffee after service.
We acknowledge our imperfections, but we also celebrate the grace we receive from God. Together, we learn to extend that grace to ourselves and others, fostering an environment of love and understanding.
Living out our faith means serving our community. We encourage everyone to get involved in outreach projects that allow us to make a positive impact in the lives of others.
Faith is a journey, and we are committed to growing together. Join us for Bible studies, workshops, and events that deepen our understanding and strengthen our relationship with God.
We know that’s a lot to take in, so we invite you to just
COME & SEE!
